I'm a Celebrity's Ant addresses Dec's live mistake as viewers left in 'meltdown'

Geordie stars Ant and Dec were involved in a live gaffe on I'm A Celebrity - and fans were quick to point out the blunder.

The error was made on Tuesday's show as the pair were broadcasting live from Australia. Before a clip aired, Dec said: "Here’s Sue, Mike and Seann cleaning up…”

But when the clip began, it appeared Dec had confused Sue Cleaver and Charlene White. As the camera cut back to him, he said: “That was of course Charlene in the challenge, not Sue like Ant said just before.”

Ant hit back: “Give over!” Dec quipped: “How did you make that mistake?” Viewers then took to social media to point out the gaffe, reports Birmingham Live.

On Twitter, Abby wrote: “Am I going dumb, did they not just say SUE, Mike and Seann?!??” Tweets said: "Sorry but did ant and Dec say sue, seann and Mike — it’s Charlene though" Billion added: "Twitters in meltdown coz ant and dec mixed up Sue and Charlene."

It came before the Geordie hosts took aim at their bosses at ITV with a barb about the new channel ITVX. ITV has been rebranded ITV1, with Dec joking Boy George stealing Chris Moyles' towel could become an ITV1 true crime documentary.

"Oh ITV1 the main channel", he said. ITVX's name and branding was produced by DixonBaxi, and "turns streaming conventions on their head, or more accurately rotates them 45 degrees, with an X in place of in the more commonly used +" ITV said in a statement.

ITV’s Chief Marketing Officer Jane Stiller said: “We are using the launch of ITVX this autumn as a moment to give ITV's broadcast channels a modern and fresh update too. This is all driven by a future where both broadcast and streaming will be equally crucial parts of how viewers engage with us."

She added: "Viewers will see what we do in broadcast and streaming as much more joined up and we will be able to seamlessly cross promote across the platforms enabling greater content discovery. Everything will look and feel modern and relevant, with each platform or channel having a simple twist. This approach will flow into our new idents too, which are created to reflect and connect with modern Britain."
