I'm a Celebrity pay hidden tribute to Corrie legend in latest episode

I'm A Celebrity produced a hidden tribute to a Coronation Street legend during its latest episode.

Ant and Dec were back on screens on Wednesday night to bring viewers the latest action from camp in Gwrych Castle.

And of course, there was another trial to watch.

It was a soap double as Emmerdale's Danny Miller and Coronation Street's Simon Gregson took part in a Christmas-themed challenge, Santa's.

Grotty Grotto, which saw them rummaging around in sacks of rotten vegetables and fermented eggnog before decorating a tree and drinking fish-eye shots.

They earned seven out of a possible eight stars for camp, winning partridge for dinner.

But it was actually the Castle Coin Challenge that featured the tribute.

Steve McDonald actor Simon and Louise Minchin took part in the task, which involved them having to take orders and serve up food.

One of them had to look through a telescope to see a constellation and then explain the pattern to the other, who had to map it out on the spaceship with a glowing neon rope.

Ant is just so happened to be a hotpot they were serving up with the title of the game: "Hotpot Hilarity."

The fictional takeaway was also called Better Than Betty's and Simon quickly picked up on the link to Corrie icon Betty Williams, played by the late great Betty Driver.

The game gave a nod the the Queen of the Hotpot (ITV)

There was also a sign featured which read: "Better Than Betty's."

But Simon said: "Nothing is ever going to compare to Betty's hotpot."

Betty played Rovers Return Inn barmaid Betty Williams from 1969 until her death from pneumonia in 2011.

She became the queen of the hotpot and the hearty dish is still a mainstay at the Rovers today.
