Shane Richie continues to lead as the favourite to win this year’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
The former EastEnders star is one of 10 celebrity contestants joining this year’s show, which is set at a derelict Welsh castle instead of the usual Australian bush.
The lineup was officially announced during an anniversary special on Sunday 8 November, in which presenters Ant and Dec took on a gruelling Bushtucker Trial for the first time.
Other celebrities taking part are: Paralympic gold medallist Hollie Arnold, Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard, Radio 1 DJ Jordan North, broadcaster and journalist Victoria Derbyshire, former EastEnders star Jessica Plummer, TV presenter Vernon Kay, and Coronation Street star Beverley Callard.
In last night’s (16 November) episode, Richie and Jordan North took part in a challenge at the “Viper Vault”, where they were each locked in boxes full of snakes as they attempted to retrieve a number of gold stars.
Likely thanks to his performance, Richie is now favourite to win with odds of 9/4, according to Coral.
Jordan follows with odds of 3/1, while Vernon Kay can be backed at 11/2. Mo Farah is 6/1.
“Shane Richie is going to be great fun to watch over the next few weeks. We make the former EastEnders actor the one to beat on the show as he is sure to be very popular with viewers,” said Coral’s John Hill.
He added: “Jordan Noah has had his odds slashed in half over the opening couple of days, while Vernon Kay is also prominent in the betting to be the last contestant standing this year.”

The news comes after Richie revealed he was starring in the celebrity TV show after becoming “literally skint” due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
