I'm A Celebrity bosses in 'advanced talks' with Boyzone star Keith Duffy for place on line-up

There may be a boyband favourite to serenade I'm A Celebrity campmates this year with rumours hinting that a member of Boyzone is in 'advanced talks' with bosses to star in the new series.

When news first broke that this year's show - the 20th series - would not be taking place in Australia it was what many viewers had expected, given the ongoing uncertainty over Covid-19, but its new choice of location of Gwrych Castle in Aberegle, North Wales looks set to spring plenty of surprises.

The I'm A Celebrity line-up for this year is said to include everyone from Selling Sunset's Christine Quinn to former EastEnders actress Tamzin Outhwaite.

And the latest star to be linked is Boyzone's Keith Duffy.

The Irish group, famous for hits like Words and Picture of You, took their farewell tour across the country last year but before and after that, Keith has also been kept busy performing in Boyzlife alongside former Westlife star Brian McFadden.

The duo, who have just released an album, have hit the stage with their own show as well as going down a storm at events like Bingo's Bingo but, due to the coronavirus pandemic, their latest tour had to be postponed until 2021.

Which means that Keith will be free to star in I'm A Celebrity in a few months time and, according to The Sun, the 45-year-old has been having Zoom meetings with bosses to discuss his appearance in the jungle.

A source said: "Since the location moved from Australia to North Wales it's been a little more tricky to get people on board but the team are confident they sold it well.

"Keith would make for a brilliant campmate with his celebrity tales and his can-do attitude.

"Everyone hopes that he might take a chance this time around."
