I'm A Celeb final breaks viewing records as Jill Scott beats Matt Hancock to the crown

Last night's final of I'm A Celebrity broke viewing records as Jill Scott was crowned Queen of the Jungle.

The show drew in a staggering 11.5 million viewers - making it the most watched entertainment show on any channel this year as fans of the show waited with baited breath to see if Jill, Owen Warner or Matt Hancock will come out victorious.

Sunday's episode was the highest-rated final of the show since 2018 when an average of 10.9 million tuned in to watch Harry Redknapp be crowned.

This year's total was an increase of 3.6 million viewers from last year, when the series was set in Wales.

After three weeks of slumming it in the jungle, ex-Lioness Jill arrived at her hotel in a gold hummer with her fiancee Shelly Unitt.

Jill was stunned after hearing 12 million votes had been cast to decide who won this year's series.

Before it was revealed she was Queen of the jungle, she said: "If Owen was to win King of the Jungle or if I was to win Queen of the Jungle, there's no one I would rather be sat here with, so today is just going to be a great day regardless."

She said how her football career had helped her when it came to becoming a part of the jungle team.

"I always say that's why kids need to go into sport. It's not about going in at the highest level or anything like that. It's what you learn through sport, winning, losing, hard work, being a good person... and you don't know how you're going to react to rats and heights, but... playing for incredible teams equipped me well for the jungle," she explained.

"I can't believe it. I just can't believe it. I think I'm going to owe my grandma a lot of money for the 12million votes! I don't think there should be one winner, we're all winners."

Jill proudly held up her flower crown as she arrived at the Marriott hotel, before being reunited with her fellow campmates in the lobby.

Runners up Owen and Matt proved there were no hard feelings after they were the first to run over and give her a huge hug.

Speaking of her roaring victory on Good Morning Britain, Jill said: "'Winning the Euros has to be up there with the best moments of my life, but this hasn't sunk in!

"It was tough at times but that "cyclone" challenge was like being a kid again. I tried to make the most of an incredible experience really."

"It's taken two showers and two baths just to smell half-decent!'. She added that she doesn't have any plans for what she will do next with her career," she joked.

After being deprived of knowing what's going on in the outside world, Jill couldn't wait to catch up on the World Cup.

"I have missed the World Cup so much. Me and Owen were begging for the scores and they kept saying "we can't tell you"! I think they're going to be fine against Wales. I have every confidence. I'm a massive Phil Foden fan!"
