'I heard this almighty bang': Man shot dead in Perth suburb of Nollamara

WA Police were called to the shooting in Nollamara on Saturday afternoon.

The Homicide Squad is investigating the shooting death of a man in the Perth suburb of Nollamara.

WA Police have confirmed they were called to a home on Constance Street around 1:25pm on Saturday after reports a man had been shot. They have not said anyone has been taken into custody in relation to the incident.

A neighbour, who gave her name as Dee, told reporters, "I was indoors, watching the cricket and I heard this almighty bang. I opened my door and realised people were down my neighbour's driveway."

She said she went straight over and saw an injured man fall off a fence into the driveway and a woman told her to "go away".

Dee said she told the woman, "I beg your pardon?" and asked the woman if she'd rung an ambulance.

She said another woman was trying to help the man breathe before an ambulance arrived and took him to hospital.

WA Police Acting Inspector George Paton confirmed the man's death in a statement to reporters.

He said, "police located a man with a significant injuries. He was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital by St John Ambulance however he died a short time later."

But he wouldn't take any questions, telling reporters, "it's an ongoing investigation, as you can appreciate, it's pretty dynamic."
