An Arizona woman orders Sbarro pizza on DoorDash after a grueling 12.5-hour shift. However, her Dasher doesn’t deliver the pizza, leading to a hilarious viral interaction with her neighbor, who helped crack the case.
In a video with over 221,000 views, TikToker Hope Gombar (@hopegombar) says she ordered Sbarro and closely tracked her order’s progress on the DoorDash app. However, when the app indicated that it had been delivered, she opened her apartment door to find no food.
She calls the DoorDash driver, whose profile indicates they are a woman. A man picks up the phone instead. He claims he did deliver the pizza, but must have placed it in front of the wrong door.
Gombar runs around her apartment complex to find her $50 Sbarro order, as she recognizes the background of the delivery photo.
Did her DoorDash driver steal her pizza?
She spots a doormat that matches the delivery location pictured on the DoorDash app. Gombar decides to knock on the door to see if the food was mistakenly delivered to their apartment.
When her neighbor opens the door, she says something shocking.
“She says, ‘Girl, I literally knew someone was going to come to our front door. Your DoorDasher stole your food,'” Gombar recounts. She posts the Ring doorbell footage provided by her neighbor.
The man places the pizza on the doormat, takes a picture for proof of delivery, and then picks up the pizza and walks back to his car.
“Kennedy from DoorDash, you owe me $50,” Gombar says at the end of the clip. She also notes that she plans to never use DoorDash again.
“I guess I’ll be using Postmates and Uber Eats from now on,” she remarks.
Her neighbor, Keke Ragsdale (@keke_ragesdale), also posts the viral Ring doorbell footage on her TikTok, garnering over eight million views.

Did she report the incident to DoorDash?
In a comment, Gombar says she reported the situation to DoorDash. The food delivery company also commented on Ragsdale’s viral TikTok, claiming it had DM’d both women with a solution.
Ragsdale shares in an update that DoorDash gave her and Gombar $100 each to use on the app. She also says that she and Gombar are now friends following the situation. In an Instagram direct message to The Mary Sue, Ragsdale says that DoorDash assured the pair that “they will make sure [Gombar] and I remain safe and handle the situation with appropriate [measures].”
In a follow-up video, Gombar says she re-ordered her Sbarro pizza and picked it up in person. The Sbarro worker gave her free ranch and cinnamon sticks and reported the driver on the business side of the DoorDash app.
In the comments, viewers praise the two women for coming together to handle the pizza theft.
“Well, I love this outcome. It was an unfortunate series of events that turned into a very happy ending,” one writes.
“Yay!! Great update. Also so glad apartment girl also got some love from DD too!” another says.
However, other DoorDash customers say the delivery service hasn’t been as generous when resolving their complaints.
“They only did this because of the video… they told me they were going to inactive my account because I have had too many complaints? Like what? Maybe pay attention to who you hire so they don’t steal,” a commenter shares.
“Door dash ain’t give me my money back when they stole my food,” another writes.
