When she is shooting for TV shows, Neha Marda lives in Mumbai away from her family in Patna. However, when her mother-in-law fell sick, she dropped everything to be by her side. Recently, Neha tested positive for COVID-19 and had to be away from her MIL even though she was in the same house. The actress tells us, “I quit my show Kyun Rishton Mein Katti Batti in October and left for Patna to be with my mother-in-law when she fell sick. Since that time, I had been in Patna. However, I tested positive for COVID-19 sometime ago. While I had mild symptoms, what bothered me was that I had to be away from my MIL when she needed me the most. I would handle everything for her, including her diet, nursing and sponging her.”
Committed to tending to her mother-in-law, Neha started monitoring her health and recovery virtually. She says, “I was doing online nursing for my mother-in-law. I was always on audio and video calls, instructing the staff that was taking care of her in my absence. As soon as the 14-day quarantine ended and I tested negative, I rushed to her and got back to taking care of her. Now, I wish to be around her till the time she is absolutely fine.”
The actress shares a beautiful bond with her saas. She says, “I couldn’t have asked for a better MIL. Harr rishte ki ek garima hoti hai. But I can say that my equation with my MIL is the best that any bahu can have. She is more like a friend and I can discuss anything with her. I don’t have to think twice before asking or telling her something. She is progressive and very encouraging. Without her support, I wouldn’t have been able to pursue my love for acting. If I didn’t get the kind of support I do from my family, I could have become rebellious, but tab life bohot difficult hoti. In my family, everybody understands each other’s feelings and respects everyone’s thoughts. My say is equally important in every decision. I feel blessed to have a family like mine.”
