If your food delivery order is taking longer than normal, your DoorDash driver might be “double-dashing”—at least, that’s what the internet seems to think.
Depending on who one asks, the phrase appears to have multiple meanings. The first official meaning comes from DoorDash itself. This is where customers can order something, then add another item on after their order. Typically, this results in one Dasher stopping by two different stores, then delivering the sum to a single person.
However, “double dashing” can also mean being further down the list of priorities for a DoorDash driver. This is called a “routed delivery.” Essentially, a driver is assigned multiple orders from a single pickup location, then makes multiple stops to drop them off.
If you’re one of the last stops on a DoorDash driver’s route, you might end up with cold food and a long wait. Some people handle this better than others, as TikToker Tyler (@suspiciouskindness) recently revealed.
What’s Going On With These DoorDash Videos?
Tyler posts many videos, which he claims are real interactions with DoorDash and other food delivery drivers. These videos typically involve the TikToker receiving an order, getting mad, kicking the food away, and then accusing the driver of “double dashing,” though this is not always the case.
Drivers typically react with confusion. Some claim to have informed the police of the TikToker’s actions. However, the situation usually calms down after the TikToker offers the Dasher a substantial amount of money—which is how most of these videos end.
It’s unclear whether these videos are real or fake, though comments under early iterations of this stunt indicate that at least some of them are real.
However, some are calling out the creator due to videos like one posted last week, which currently has over 3.5 million views.
Did This DoorDash Driver ‘DoubleDash?’
In his video, the creator shows an interaction with a DoorDash driver. The interaction is the same as many of his other videos. He receives food, he kicks it, he accuses the DoorDash driver of “double dashing,” and they deny it.
“I come from all the way across town,” the Dasher says during their denial. She later adds, “The only order that I have, and then I’m logging off.”
Throughout the video, the TikToker responds with repeated accusations of “double dashing” interspersed with “random” humor. This includes suddenly saying that he has “four bodies underneath my house” and pointing to a decorative chicken that has been attached to a tree.
By the end, the TikToker has given the driver a substantial amount of cash.
It’s uncertain whether the Dasher “double dashed”—but, to be clear, this does not go against DoorDash’s rules, and is in fact expressly allowed and encouraged.

Commenters Aren’t Happy
While some in the comments section encouraged the TikToker’s behavior, others were worried for the Dasher. Some also noted that “double dashing,” the thing that the TikToker is complaining about, is not actually a problem.
“Customers need to realize that Doordash assigns up to 3 orders at a time. Pay for priority if you want yours first.Pay the express fees and stop complaining,” wrote a user.
“She looks terrified. I am a dasher and have terrible social anxiety and would not know how to react to this,” added another.
“The fact that anyone can be mean or rude to people just trying to work and make a living is insane to me,” stated a third. “Take that anger and use it to look at politicians or the rich who control all the wealth. Not some struggling working class person that has medical bills and a busted up car.”
