‘I can’t wrap my head around this’: DoorDash driver parks at Walmart after Taco Bell order sends her to closed Verizon store. Then she spots a woman in peril

A DoorDash driver has gone viral after sharing how a standard DoorDash order turned into a rescue mission. The driver, who is named Misty Rose (@misty_rose_3.0) began her TikTok sitting in the car, with ambulance lights flashing in the background.

“The most insane thing just happened to me,” she said.

According to Rose, she picked up a Taco Bell order, but when she turned up, she realized that she had been led to a closed Verizon store. So, she pulled into a nearby Walmart to attempt to call the customer. However, the customer told her that she didn’t actually order anything, so Rose then decided to call DoorDash instead.

But then, she was distracted by a woman sitting on the parking lot’s curb.

“God was telling me to ask her [if she was OK],” she said. So, that’s exactly what Rose did. The woman said she needed a ride home, so Rose went into Walmart and asked one of the employees if they could help her. While this was unsuccessful, a staff member did tell her that the woman had asked for an ambulance earlier.

However, after the ambulance came, the woman said she didn’t need any help. Rose was also told that she had just gotten released from the hospital, and was still wearing her hospital bracelet.

“God only knows what would’ve happened if I didn’t show up,” she remarked. “This is a miraculous story I want to share … that God is a miracle worker.”

Rose didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment.

Commenters were unsure

Commenters had mixed feelings about the exchange.

“I think that she was just released from the hospital and withdrawing and just wanted her next fix that’s why she refused their help,” one speculated. “I mean that in the nicest way and with no judgement.”

While another said, “Okay, but you never told if you actually got her help or if you just left her out there alone after the ambulance left. If she refused medical attention, then you just left her on the side of the road?”

Other commenters praised Rose for what she did. “This is the whole point of our existence,” a user wrote. “We are God’s miracle to be able to help others.”

“Sis, you did your part in Jesus’ name,” a fourth added. “Good work.”

The video amassed 1.7 million views.
