‘I can see the apartment in New York that they were shipped to’: Woman’s Ulta account was unknowingly hacked 2 years ago. Then she sees what they did with her points

An Ulta customer was left furious after discovering that a hacker didn’t just steal her Ulta account—but stole her points too.

Describing it as “funny and unexpected drama,” TikToker Madison Quinn (@madisonquinnblog) explained the first sign that something was wrong. She was shopping at Ulta, and when she requested an email receipt, the account had an email she didn’t recognize.

While the phone number is correct, the email is wrong. Still, Quinn says she didn’t think much of it. That is, until she went shopping online and tried to log in to her account. She found that she couldn’t access her account because the hacker had changed all the details.

What happened to her Ulta account?

A few days later, after calling customer service, Quinn regained access to her account—but something was missing.

“Another thing you should know about me is I apparently just accumulate a ton of points at places and then never go spend them,” she explained.

“I have a ton of Ulta points. I have, like, 25,000 points at Chick-fil-A, just like I always get points, and then I never actually go spend them,” she said. “Well, whoever has hacked my account knows how to use those points since 2023 so for two full years, this person has had my account and had access to my points, and they have restocked their cologne and perfume two different times using all of my points.”

Uncovering the culprit

She went on to add that, thanks to them adding the shipping address, she knew exactly who had “completely drained all [her] points.” Quinn then said that she had “a ton” of Ulta points from regularly going to the Ulta beauty salon. However, these were all spent too.

“They drained them all,” she repeated. “Anyways, it’s honestly funny at this point that they got away with that for two years of me just earning them points to spend. And I guess the lesson here is for me to go ball out and spend all of my points at all my places, because if I won’t, someone else will.”

Viewers could relate

Based on the comments section, Quinn’s experience is not uncommon.

“My account has been hacked and my points have been stolen 4 different times,” one wrote.

Another shared, “My account has been hacked and my points have been stolen 4 different times. The most recent being yesterday when they spent $350 of my points…half way across the country. Still waiting for my points to be replenished, but after that I’m done with Ulta. Only one time has it been online, every other time has been in store, so even the 2 factor identification isn’t going to save them.”

While a third added, “This happened to me!! Someone used my points, Ulta gave them back to me. But now when I try to order it tells me my payments aren’t valid and I can’t get it fixed.”
