I am very happy to say that bows are back for the holidays of 2025 – and Shea McGee's new Christmas collection is filled with the whimsical, romantic trend

Christmas tree adorned with bows featured in a festive living room with accent chairs and gift-wrapped presents.

Once upon a time, we decked the halls with holly. In 2025, the accoutrement of choice has been swapped for something sweeter: bows. According to Shea McGee, whose latest McGee & Co. holiday drop ties everything up in ribbon, the flourish isn’t just back – it’s officially unavoidable.

You probably remember the Coquette-era bows, which were sugary pink, often attached to things they had no business adorning, like a cardigan or a bottle of Diet Coke. This is not that. Shea’s bows arrive as stately stocking holders, shimmering brass tree toppers, and knitted into heritage-inspired throw pillows – Christmas decorating ideas that feel infinitely more polished.

And no corner is off limits. Months ago, on a hot summer day, when I visited her Christmas 2025 preview, Shea tied ribbons to chairs, garlands, and even light fixtures. So I knew bows would be a big deal. Still, this decor lands with more presence than I expected, debuting en masse – perched on mantles, crowning trees, even cozying up the sofa.

The collection also contains a beautiful selection of ribbons that aren't just for decorating gifts but can be turned into garlands, tied to chairs, or laced over furniture, as seen here (Image credit: McGee & Co. )

Which poses the question: where are you bow-ing this holiday season? Because the matter is not whether bows are trending, but rather, where you will put them. Ahead, six ideas to make this whimsical, romantic Christmas decor trend your own.

If all this talk of Christmas has you panicking about not even having Halloween sorted, don’t worry – there’s still time. Shea McGee’s Halloween 2025 collection is just as chic, and right now it’s 30% off.
