SIX businesses from the Hunter and Central coast have come out on top at this year's NSW Business Awards.
The ceremony on Friday night saw three winners from last week's Hunter Business awards go on to claim top spots in their respective state categories.
"I'm simply elated for the recognition some of our most respected and innovative employers and businesses received across NSW tonight," Business Hunter CEO Bob Hawes who attended the virtual event said.
Mr Hawes congratulated animal preservation project Aussie Ark for taking out the Excellence in Small Business category.
"Aussie ARK are committed to protecting our most vulnerable creatures and after starting out as crusaders for the protection of the Tasmanian Devil from extinction, their enterprise has expanded to create a long-term future for more threatened species in Australia," he said.
Other award recipients from the Hunter included Hume Community Housing as Employer of Choice and Stephen Hunt from Hunt Hospitality as Outstanding Business Leader.
Mr Hawes commended Hume Community housing for "frequently exceeding industry benchmarks" in "measures of employee satisfaction" and Stephen Hunt as a "truly impressive business leader".
The Glen Centre on the Central Coast won Outstanding Community Organisation with the Australian Reptile Park taking home two of the night's top awards.
"I also want to give a shout out to the businesses on the Central Coast, our neighbours and partners in many avenues of business - the Australian Reptile Park taking out NSW Business of the Year is impressive, and Business Hunter sends all winners our congratulations," Mr Hawes said.
