Hunt launched for two people in connection with deliberate fire in east end pub The Dalmarnock Inn

Police have launched a hunt for two people in “dark clothing" in connection with a deliberate fire in an east end pub.

The pair were seen running from the blaze at The Dalmarnock Inn in the direction of Dunn Street at around 1.55am on Monday morning.

Police and fire crews rushed to the scene of the incident, where they remained for around six hours.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 6.15am on Monday, January 3, officers were called to a report of a fire at a building on Old Dalmarnock Road, Glasgow.

"Enquiries are ongoing and the fire is being treated as wilful."

The force Tweeted this afternoon: “We are appealing after a fire was set at a bar on Old Dalmarnock Rd, Glasgow, around 1.55am on Mon, 3 January.

"Two people wearing dark-clothing were seen running from the building around the time in the direction of Dunn Street. Anyone with info call 101, inc 0491 of 3 January."
