Hunt launched after thugs attack man and torch car outside Scots home

Police have launched a manhunt for thugs who attacked a Scots man in a house before torching a car outside.

At around 9.25pm on Thursday, March 4, two men entered a property on Ettrick Street in Wishaw before seriously assaulted a 34-year-old.

The pair then deliberately torched to a vehicle outside of the property in a wilful fire.

The victim sustained serious injures and was taken to Wishaw General Hospital and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Enquiries carried out so far have established the suspects arrived and left the scene in a dark coloured vehicle, believed to be a Volvo.

Police are appealing for information to help catch the culprits.

Detective Constable David Duers, of Lanarkshire CID, said: "This was a terrifying experience for the victim who sustained serious injuries as a result.

"The suspects arrived and left the scene in a dark coloured vehicle, believed to be a Volvo. I would encourage anyone who saw the vehicle before or after the incident to get in touch with police.

"Anyone with information which could assist our investigation is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 3192 of 4 March."
