Hunt for suspected burglar hit by car on busy Cardiff road

Police are investigating after a suspected burglar was hit by a car on one of Caridff's busiest roads.

South Wales Police have said that the alleged burglar was disturbed around 7.45am on Thursday, February 20.

He ran from the scene and collided with a car as it travelled along Newport Road in the Splott area of the city.

Police are not sure how badly hurt he was in the crash and are trying to locate him.

He got up from the road and continued to flee towards Splott.

The suspect is described as a white man in his late 20s or early 30s, he is about 5ft 10ins tall and of slim build.

He was wearing a dark hooded top with a white butterfly on the left breast, red sleeves and a blue hood, dark grey jogging trousers and white trainers.

We are appealing to anyone with information regarding this individual, particularly anyone with injuries consistent with having been hit by a car, and if anyone has any dash-cam footage of the incident that they haven’t previously notified the police about to call us on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 and quote reference 2000062615 .
