Humza Yousaf jokes about dodging ironing as he encourages people to donate blood

HUMZA Yousaf has joked that his plan to try and dodge the ironing didn’t quite work after he donated blood earlier this week.

A video circulating on social media showed the First Minister joking with staff at a donation centre in Glasgow.

He could be heard saying to a member of staff: “No exercise, brilliant. Don’t tell my wife. I can’t do any ironing.”

Yousaf re-shared the clip on his own Twitter/X account and said: “I tried this excuse with Nadia, and I can confirm it does not work…”

As excuses go, it’s not the worst The Jouker has heard but even Yousaf himself seemed to know he was pushing his luck ever so slightly.

Yousaf’s post added: “Notwithstanding the fact that giving blood doesn’t get you out of the ironing, please book an appointment to make a blood donation, you could quite literally save someone’s life.”

Donation centres are currently running in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Livingston are open at various times during the festive period.
