Humans could achieve immortality by 2030, says expert

Scientists say humans could be just seven years away from achieving immortality - and finding a way to live forever. Computer scientist Ray Kurzweil says immortality could be possible by 2030, reports indy100.

The futurologist previously correctly predicted that a computer would beat a Chess grandmaster, and that everyone would carry high-powered mobile phones.

He also says artificial intelligence will match human intelligence by 2029.

Discussing extending human life infinitely, Ray told Futurism: "I think we can get there by the end of this decade."

He says nanobots will be injected into humans to repair damage and illness, keeping us alive and healthy, while our memories will be uploaded to the cloud.
