AN investigation has been launched after human remains were found on a beach near Glasgow.
The discovery was made around 10.45am on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, on Prestwick Beach in Ayrshire.
Emergency services rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised that the remains had been found.
At this stage, it remains unclear whether the remains belong to a man or a woman, or how long they had been in the water before washing ashore.
Officers are investigating the incident to establish the full circumstances.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed: “Around 10.45am on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, we received a report that human remains had been discovered on Prestwick Beach.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
