Police have launched an investigation after human remains were discovered on the Isle of Raasay.

The grim discovery was made on Sunday afternoon around 4.40pm in a wooded area near Top Road on the island.

Identification is still to take place, however, the discovery could be related to the disappearance of 73-year-old Alistair Lovie on the island last year.
