Hugo Lloris opens up on his relationship with Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho

Hugo Lloris believes it is a 'privilege' to work with Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho every day.

The World Cup winner had a close bond with former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino and missed much of Mourinho's time in charge before the recent football shutdown with an elbow injury.

However, Lloris has spent the past month working with the Portuguese and the Tottenham captain appears to be fully on board with the new man at the helm.

"He's great. He's a character. So of course, through the media, you can have preconceived ideas, but when you get in touch with him on a daily basis, inside a training centre. I think it's a privilege," he said in an interview with French Eurosport.

"He's coached so many great teams, so many great players.

"He's got a lot of experience and a lot of trophies in his cupboard.

"When you're a player, I think it's a chance to be at his side because there's so much to learn."

The 33-year-old found himself on the end of some good-natured mocking from Mourinho during one of the squad's virtual training session.

Lloris has shaved his head during the lockdown, following in the footsteps of Jan Vertonghen.

Mourinho, who knows plenty about a close shave himself, could be heard to tell Lloris: "Don't worry Hugo, it will have grown back in two weeks."
