Hugh Grant promises Everton fan a pint after social media video

Hugh Grant has offered an Everton fan a pint after seeing his video message thanking Twitter users for their kindness.

Michael Dullaghan, a 41-year-old Everton supporter with down syndrome, posted a video on the popular social media site and offered his thoughts on the game at Fulham on Sunday.

Dullaghan caught the attention of actor and Fulham fan Grant, who offered his Everton rival a pre-match drink next time the two teams meet in London.

Grant said: "Hello Michael. Next season, come down to Craven Cottage for the same game and I'll buy you a pint. Or a glass of sherry as we call them in Fulham."

Everton subsequently reached out to the duo and added: "You're both welcome at ours for a bevvy when we're back at the Grand Old Lady."

Dullaghan found social media fame last month when he posted a heartfelt message asking for more friends.

The post was shown to Everton chairman Bill Kenwright, who sent a letter along with a hamper of merchandise.

Kenwright invited Dullaghan to meet Carlo Ancelotti and the Everton team when the climate is safe to visit Finch Farm.
