Huge Modding Breakthrough Brings Custom Stadium Imports to Football Manager 26

Football Manager 26 fans finally have some hope for the game as a major modding breakthrough just happened. Because FM26 marks the series’ switch to the Unity engine, modding for the game has faced some challenges. The game doesn’t support skins (yet), and many other quality-of-life mods that were easily accessible in FM24 have yet to be developed.

But, things are slowly changing as modders have just made a huge breakthrough — some have successfully managed to import 3D stadiums into the game. After FM26’s move to Unity, custom stadiums were among the many things players were hoping for. And now, it seems like they’re finally on the way.

The news was announced by the modder behind this achievement on Reddit. He talks about how this breakthrough could “provide the way for full-on 3D asset work,”.

This isn’t just a simple visual tweak. If stadium models can be added reliably, it opens the door for a wave of creativity: real-world grounds, classic arenas, or entirely fictional stadiums brought to life inside FM 26. For a community that thrives on customization, this could be big for the game.

Why This Is A Big Deal For FM 26 Modding

football manager 26 touch - 1

Since Football Manager 26 launched, fans have been curious about how modding would evolve under the new engine. The breakthrough comes from a modder known as BassyBoy — one of the most popular in the FM community — who shared a preview clip showing a fully imported 3D stadium successfully running in-game.

He mentioned that it took a late-night effort, along with other members, to figure this out. According to him, this would lead to more detailed stadium assets and even full custom environments.

In all of FM history, stadium mods have more or less been limited to 2D backgrounds in menus or just better textures. So, the leap to custom 3D stadiums is a big deal.

Of course, the mod isn’t out yet as BassyBoy is still working on it. This is just a preview of it working in its early stages. But the fact that it works proves that there will be custom stadiums in FM26 in the near future. Considering how much hate FM26 is getting, this could give it the break it needs.
