How will Tottenham line up against Newcastle? Heung-min Son returns

Heung-min Son is back in contention for Tottenham after serving a suspension and could come into the starting XI against Newcastle.

The forward missed the opening two games of the season following his red card against Bournemouth in the penultimate game of last season, with Juan Foyth also receiving his marching orders.

Foyth remains sidelined, however, after suffering an ankle injury during pre-season and is joined in the treatment room by summer arrival Ryan Sessegnon. Both players are not expected back before the September international break.

Ben Davies and Dele Alli have resumed training but this weekend may come too soon for the pair. Giovani Lo Celso made his debut with a five-minute run out against Manchester City and should be afforded a longer cameo against Newcastle.

Jan Vertonghen has sat out the first two games of the season amid ongoing uncertainty over his future, though could come in on Sunday ahead of the north London derby the following weekend.
