No longer able to take up your 2021 Great North Run place?
Whether you have to cancel due to a medical condition or your training simply hasn't got off the ground, there are options.
You can withdraw and get guaranteed entry for next year, or a refund, depending on your circumstances.

But you don't have too long to take the necessary action.
If you are unable to run and have to withdraw from the 2021 Great North Run for any reason, organisers guarantee you an entry for the 2022 event if you take these steps:
- Complete the online withdrawal form
- Return your run number/timing chip to Simplyhealth Great North Run Withdrawal Policy, PO Box 1RY, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE99 1RY
- All online withdrawals will close 6pm on Saturday September 11 2021
Entry fees are not refundable and you will have to pay again next year.
You'll be contacted by email in November with details of how to register and pay for your guaranteed place, so entrants are reminded to keep the email on their Great Run account up to date.
Once you've committed to withdraw, there's no way to get back in to this year's race.
There is an option for medical withdrawal without having to lose your entry fee, however, it can only be used at the latest 10 weeks before the race, on production of a medical certificate.
