The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) is nearly here and we have all the deets on how you can devour one of music’s most iconic night of nights.

Who’s nominated at the 2025 VMAs?

Let’s be real — this year’s VMAs is basically Lady Gaga’s world and everyone else is just renting space. She’s grabbed a whopping 12 nominations including Artist and Video of the Year, with Bruno Mars right behind on 11, then Kendrick Lamar (10), and pop darlings like Sabrina Carpenter and ROSÉ nipping at their designer heels.

Surely a redo of this. (Photo by Kevin Winter/Getty Images)

How to vote for the 2025 VMAs in Australia

Fan voting’s open until Saturday morning Australia-time (that’s 6pm ET Friday in the States), with MTV letting you click away up to 10 times per day. You can vote on the MTV website HERE.

How to watch the 2025 VMAs in Australia

If you like your live events legal and above board, the simple answer is Paramount+ Australia. Paramount+ costs $9.99 a month here, but you can nab a week-long free trial if you’re just here for the chaos and want to bail before the bill hits.

Don’t fancy streaming? If you were blessed/cursed with a Foxtel or Fetch TV subscription, MTV is the backup, but it won’t get you the CBS feed that Yanks are seeing.

When are the 2025 VMAs starting in Australia?

The main ceremony streams Monday, September 8 at 10am AEST — because of course this has to happen when everyone’s at work or uni. The pre-show is set for 9am AEST.

Who’s hosting the 2025 VMAs?

LL Cool J is at the helm again, so expect dad jokes and baritone intros. Mariah Carey is this year’s Video Vanguard recipient, just 20 short years since her last VMAs stage moment.

Who is performing at the 2025 VMAs?

This years performances are STACKED and I will be sat for every single one of them. The setlist includes Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, J Balvin, Post Malone, Ricky Martin, Tate McRae, and enough newcomer acts to keep Gen Z, Millennials and, somehow, even your mum entertained.

So there you have it! You’re all set to watch this year’s VMAs. Just remember to time your “sick day” email well, ‘cos the FOMO will be real.
