The Allianz Stadium Twickenham will play host to a titanic clash today as Bath and Leicester face off for the Premiership Rugby title.
Bath come into the tie chasing their seventh Premiership crown while Leicester eye their 12th, but the odds are not in their favour.
The final will be the third meeting between the sides this season, and the tale of the tape does not make pretty reading for the Tigers: Bath have won both of the previous meetings by an aggregate score of 63-30.
As they look to overturn that head-to-head, head coach Michael Cheika said Leicester will need full focus: “The objective is to get us into the frame of mind where we go into the game with a strong belief that we’ve got a good plan and to deliver that.”
It will be a historic day for Leicester, though, as they look to give a fitting send-off to a crop of retirees, including England legends Ben Youngs, Dan Cole, and Mike Brown.
Bath captain Ben Spencer is out to rain on their parade: “The game will be worse off without them, but I don’t think there’s any part of me, or any of the Bath lads, that doesn’t want to spoil that party.
“Like I said, great players, legends of the game, and it’ll be sad to see them go. But, I’m hoping that we lift a trophy at the end of the day, on Saturday afternoon.”
