England get their first taste of knockout rugby at the Women’s Rugby World Cup today, facing the Auld Enemy Scotland at Ashton Gate.
The Red Roses have been untouchable so far in the tournament, romping to the top spot in Pool A with one-sided wins over the United States, Samoa, and Australia.

Scotland, meanwhile, had a trickier pool campaign. They beat Wales convincingly to open their tournament before edging past Fiji and losing to Canada.
They now face comfortably their stiffest competition of the tournament so far as they prepare to take on John Mitchell’s England.
Holly Aitchson has come into the England lineup for her first start of the tournament, and said she was excited to be taking part after shaking off an ankle injury.
She explained: "I obviously had a bit of an ankle injury, which I’ve gotten through thanks to the medical team, so yeah I’m super excited. Just ready to get going now.
"We’re just always working to be better and the processing is the same, but it’s just the small things each week that change, so we focus ourselves on that, making small changes that allow us to be the best we can be."
