Manchester City face Arsenal for the first time in the Premier League this season less than three weeks on from dumping Mikel Arteta's side out of the FA Cup in the fourth round.
A sole Nathan Ake strike was enough for Pep Guardiola's side to prevail on that occasion in the first of three meetings between the two clubs in the space of four months. City head into Wednesday knowing that, with a win, the gap at the top of the Premier League table could be cut to just two points.
This match in north London was due to be played back in October, but, at the request of Arsenal, that match was rearranged, in agreement with City and the Premier League. They reasoned that they needed to accommodate their Europa League group stage game against PSV Eindhoven, which itself was postponed during the fears about policing in the capital in the aftermath of the Queen's death, to avoid the risk of forfeiting the Dutch side's visit.
