Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 3 is launching some new heavy-hitting weapons, including the VST submachine gun.
If you’re a fan of the classic MP7 from Black Ops 2, this lightweight, full-auto SMG is going to feel right at home in your loadout. Here’s everything you need to know about unlocking the VST in BO7 and Warzone.

How to unlock the VST SMG in BO7 and Warzone
The VST, which looks like a reworked version of MP7 from BO2, is built for hit-and-run specialists. It boasts exceptional mobility and handling, making it a monster for hip-firing at close range. However, this SMG has noticeable recoil and kick, so while you’ll dominate at point-blank range, you’re going to struggle if you try to ADS at mid-range.
If you want to trade some fire rate for stability and range, you can unlock its Prestige Attachment, the MFS 5.56 MINSAS Conversion. This fire mod increases damage range and makes the recoil much easier to manage for mid-range fights, while also letting you use different 5.56 magazines.
The primary way to unlock the VST SMG is through the BO7 and Warzone Season 3 Battle Pass. It’s one of the free tiers, and can be unlocked as the High-Value Target (HVT) reward on the Season 3 Battle Pass Page 6. That means you’ll need to work your way through the previous tiers or rewards on that page using Battle Pass Tokens to claim the new SMG.
To unlock the VST quickly, focus on maximizing your XP gains rather than simply playing a lot of matches. Prioritize daily and weekly challenges while leaning into objective-based gameplay, such as capturing points in BO7 Multiplayer or completing contracts in Warzone, to accelerate your progress toward Page 6.
If you’re a BlackCell owner, you can instantly unlock Page 6, allowing you to spend your tokens and unlock the base VST much faster than the standard grind.
There’s also a big chance that the VST will have a weapon blueprint packaged into a store bundle. Buying it will give you instant access to the weapon, but you’ll still need to level it up normally to unlock other attachments.
