In Superstar Mode, players don’t need to get into the nitty-gritty details of the actual trade. But there are some prerequisites to fulfil. In order to request a trade with your agent, you need to progress your influence bar. Your influence bar is increased by doing well in games and meeting expectations, such as scoring a certain number of goals.
Once you’ve gotten the required influence, you’ll have an option to request a trade. Simply select the option, choose the team you want to be traded to, and your agent will handle the semantics. This does mean that you can’t just keep requesting trades; you need to put in the work each time. And if you don’t play at your best, it’s just going to take you longer to get out of there.
Not only do you need to build a repertoire with your team, but also with your agent. Your agent needs to trust that you’re talented enough for him to negotiate a trade offer.
When Does The Trade Take Place?
Now, trades don’t happen out of nowhere. They require a lot of planning and details. Even if you get the required influence near the start of the season, you’ll still need to play with the same team until the season ends. Trades only take place at the end of the season, so make sure to keep that in mind.
Another point to remember is that starting with a new team means a completely fresh start. New teammates, new coaches, and an entirely new style of gameplay. The playbooks might be similar to your last team, or the complete opposite. This is where your research comes in before selecting a team to get traded to. You’ll also be starting from zero, so remember to build up that influence again, just in case you want to make the call again in the future.
