Black Ops 7 continues with Prestige, which is a core progression system that unlocks new challenges, cosmetics, and status symbols, just like the previous Call of Duty titles, and here’s how you can do it.
BO7 offers ten Prestige levels, each themed with unique operators, blueprints, and decorations that highlight your mastery. Beyond that, if you are dedicated enough, you can even push for Prestige Master, which will further unlock extended level caps and rare cosmetics.
The Prestige system extends gameplay longevity and rewards skill and persistence. Having said that, here’s everything you need to know about Prestiging in Black Ops 7.

How to Prestige in BO7
You must first reach the max level of 55 to begin the Prestige process. This applies to your overall account level, and playing Multiplayer, Zombies, and completing challenges are your main ways to earn XP and rank up fast. You must also focus on objective-based game modes like Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Hardpoint for faster XP gain.

Once level 55 is reached, you can choose to Prestige from the menu. This will reset your level to 1 and lock most previous unlocks until you level back up. While it might seem like losing progress, it’s the only way to earn exclusive Prestige attachments for weapons.
Each Prestige rank comes with unique rewards, including operator skins, weapon blueprints, loading screens, emblems, and charms. Prestige 1 rewards the Echo Veil operator skin, while Prestige 10 gives you the Reaper’s Mark blueprint. Once you earn Prestige Master, you will unlock extended levels up to 1,000 with even rarer cosmetics.
How to Prestige weapons in Black Ops 7
There’s a separate Prestige system reserved for the weapons, where each gun can be prestiged once you reach weapon level 50.
Like your account, this will reset a weapon’s level and unlock new customization options in the form of several Prestige camos as well.
There are three core Prestige tiers for weapons: Prestige 1, Prestige 2, and Prestige Master (Level 250). There are three Prestige Master camos to earn: Cobalt Circuit, Vermilion Cypher, and Violet Network. Once you have progressed with these skins, you unlock Prestige Max for each weapon, the highest tier of skin you can unlock by grinding.

Best ways to Prestige in BO7
You have to mainly play objective-based modes, such as Hardpoint, Domination, and Kill Confirmed, to earn extra points through captures and defenses. These modes reward you with points for playing the objective and not just kills, making them high-value for quick progression. BO7 Zombies’ Survival maps are also a solid option for consistent XP farming.
Then, complete daily and weekly challenges for bonus XP, and use XP tokens from time to time that carry over from previous Call of Duty titles.
Employ the best weapons to maximize XP gains. Opt for aggressive, easy-to-handle weapons, such as SMGs and assault rifles with attachments for faster reloads and larger mags.
Also, equip perks like Strategist for extra objective score, Scavenger for more ammo, and Ghost to stay off the radar and keep kill streaks alive. Use Scorestreaks you can easily earn, such as UAV and Counter UAV, to get additional assist XP.

How to avoid losing progress when you Prestige in Black Ops 7
Prestiging resets your rank to 1, but you don’t lose all progress. Your unlocked cosmetics, completed challenges, and earned weapons remain safe.
To avoid feeling set back, spend your Permanent Unlock Tokens to unlock must-have gear just before Prestiging again, and complete any nearly-finished challenges first for last-minute XP boosts. Also, keep a list of which weapons you’ve mastered so you can diversify your kit during the next climb, as this prevents repetitive grinding and keeps sessions fresh.
With that said, make sure you have these settings sorted before jumping into multiplayer:
- Best audio settings
- Best movement settings
- Best aim assist settings
- Best PC graphics settings
- Best controller settings
