Hollow Knight Silksong is a single-experiment game in which you play as Hornet. However, you can also fight against your buddy thanks to a new user-created mod.
The official version only supports single-player, and there's neither any form of PvP nor any co-op experience allowing you to play with your friends. However, a new mode will enable you to play with your buddies (in a limited scope) and juke it out.

Hollow Knight Silksong multiplayer mod explained
Titled Silksong Steam multiplayer mod, this creation from XvX adds a simple feature to the vanilla game that allows you to engage in PvP sessions with your friends. At the time of writing, the mod is only usable with the legally purchased Steam version of the game. If you're either playing via the PC Game Pass or on consoles, you won't be able to check it out.
Once you and your friend install the mod, you can fight against one another using private lobbies. The main interface will offer the option to create and join rooms. The only features currently available allow you to enjoy PvP. The battles are purely friendly, and there are no extra rewards. If you want to return to enjoying the single-player campaign, you can do so at your own pace.
How to install the Hollow Knight Silksong Multiplayer mod
- Download the required files for BepInEx.
- Extract all the downloaded files into the game’s main folder (your default Steam directory).
- Start and exit the game. This creates the BepInEx sub-folder inside the main folders.
- Place the .dll file from the mod in the Plugins folder, and run the game. Ensure that your friend has also completed all the steps to play PvP.
