If you manage to unlock the Mystery Box, you’ll have a chance to score high-rarity weapons, valuable gear, and even an Exotic weapon—the most powerful weapon type in this Blackout-inspired Warzone mode.
But unlike regular loot crates scattered around the map, the Mystery Box isn’t something you can just open on the spot. You’ll first need to track it down and complete a short challenge before it unlocks. Here’s how to find the Mystery Box and claim its rewards.

How to find Mystery Box in Warzone Black Ops Royale
Mystery Boxes appear inside Cradle Breaches, special zones that temporarily form across Avalon during a Black Ops Royale match. These areas are created when a Guild stealth bomber flies across the map and drops a Cradle Gas bomb. Once the bomb hits the ground, it anchors itself and begins leaking a thick red mist, which reduces long-range visibility and fills the zone with roaming zombies.
Cradle Breaches only last for a limited time, but they’re packed with some of the best loot in the mode. The catch is that the rewards inside aren’t visible from outside the zone, so you’ll have to push into the red mist to see what’s there.
Each Breach can feature one of two activities: Mystery Box or Mangler. If it’s the former, you’ll have to scan the area for a beam of crackling electrical light shooting into the sky from an old wooden crate. That glowing signal marks the location of the Mystery Box.
Remember that Cradle Breaches tend to attract plenty of attention. Other squads can enter the same Breach you’re in, so things can quickly get chaotic.
How to open Mystery Box in Black Ops Royale
Once you locate the Mystery Box, you’ll quickly notice that it’s locked. To open it, you must eliminate 10 zombies roaming within the Cradle Breach. As you and other players clear out the undead, the box will eventually unlock and become available to use.
One important thing to keep in mind is that any player inside the Breach can contribute to unlocking the box, including enemy squads. That means someone else could swoop in and grab the reward if you’re not careful and quick enough.
The Mystery Box can be opened multiple times while the Breach remains active. However, it will eventually disappear once the zone dissipates or after it has been looted a certain number of times.

As for the rewards, they’re completely random. Sometimes you’ll get basic items, but there’s a solid chance to pull powerful gear. High-rarity weapons, Ray Gun, and Exotic weapons can appear. Exotic weapons are fully upgraded, usually have eight attachments, and may possess unique abilities.
Because the rewards are randomized, every spin of the Mystery Box is a gamble. But if luck is on your side, it could easily give you one of the strongest loadouts in the lobby.
Tips for tackling Mystery Box activities in Black Ops Royale
When going to a Cradle Breach for a chance to find a Mystery Box, be cautious instead of rushing straight into the area. I recommend circling the edge of the Breach first and scanning the surroundings for other players before committing.
Once the area looks safe, clear out zombies while staying on the move. Standing still can quickly get you overwhelmed, especially if the zombie spawns start piling up or if another squad suddenly pushes into the Breach.
Make sure you have enough armor plates, ammo, and healing items before interacting with the Mystery Box. Since the rewards are random, there’s a good chance you’ll want to open it more than once, which means you may need to defend the area for a bit longer.
If you manage to pull something powerful, like the Ray Gun or an Exotic weapon, I suggest repositioning immediately and leaving the Breach. These zones tend to attract nearby players, and the last thing you want is to earn a top-tier weapon only to lose it moments later to a third-party squad.
