Skate’s flick-it system allows you to do a lot of cool tricks. However, if you want to keep a smooth line going and transition smoothly between tricks, you probably need to learn how to do a manual. And if you really want to add flair to your combos, the Manual Revert is the move you need. It allows you to keep a combo going while adding that stylish flair every skater wants.
The good news? It’s not that hard to learn. The catch is that the game doesn’t really teach you this trick early on. So, whether you’re stuck on a challenge or just looking to expand your bag of tricks, here’s a simple guide on how to Manual Revert in skate.
Step-By-Step Guide To Do A Manual Revert In Skate

A Manual Revert combines two tricks. As the name suggests, it is a combination of a Manual and the Revert. I’ll go over how to perform each trick individually and then combine them to execute a smooth Manual Revert.
Step 1: Learn How To Revert
The revert is the easiest trick out of the two. It allows you to do a 180 spin while staying on the board. Here is how to do the revert.
- Push off and start skating.
- Make a clockwise circle with your left stick.
- If done correctly, you’ll see it register in the bottom-left of the screen, and your skater will now be facing the opposite direction.
Step 2: Learn How to Manual
The next trick is the Manual. This one is a bit technical but not too difficult. It’s all about finding the right position with your stick. Here are the steps for manual skating:
- Get some speed on your board (it’s easier when you’re moving).
- Pull the right stick down slightly. Don’t pull it all the way, or your skater will crouch instead.
- Find the “sweet spot” between the center and the bottom of the stick’s range.
- If you hit it right, your front wheels will lift off the ground — basically like a wheelie.
- To hold the manual, keep the stick in that position. The exact spot varies slightly depending on your controller, so you’ll need to experiment.
That’s pretty much how you manual in skate. Let’s now combine these two tricks to perform the Manual Revert.
Step 3: Combining The Tricks
Once you have learned both tricks and can do them consistently, the manual revert becomes very easy. All you have to do is get some speed on board and then start manualing. Then, just perform the Revert while you are doing the Manual. If you did it correctly, your character will spin and end on a nose manual.
It’s one of my favorite tricks to do between transitions. For example, if you are grinding from one rail to another, you can do the Manual Revert between the two rails for more points and added flair.
