How to get superfast broadband with Sky for free

The cost of living is rising and consumers are looking at ways to save money on their weekly budgets and outgoing bills to cope with the high costs. Internet providers have recently been urged to offer discounted tariffs to those who are struggling the most.

In light of this a number of broadband providers are offering mega-cheap deals to not only entice new customers to sign up with hem but also to help them save money too. Sky is the latest tech giant to do such a deal.

It comes as the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is launching a scheme to enable internet providers to check whether their customers are in receipt of a benefit which entitles them to a reduced rate. Last week, Sky Broadband introduced its brand-new Wall to Wall Wi-Fi Guarantee, as standard, for all fibre customers - meaning new or existing Sky customers could get free broadband for three months when signing up to the Sky Broadband Superfast on an 18-month contract.

This time, Sky are going one step further with their six month free internet deal. As of Friday, August 12, customers who sign up for Sky Q, costing £26 per month, will receive six months free Sky Broadband Superfast – saving customers £183. Sky Q with Sky Broadband Superfast is then £56.50 per month from month seven onwards, for the remaining 12 months of the contract ( an 18-month contract in total).

Sky Q is Sky's premium subscription service, now offered as the de facto option for newcomers to Sky TV. The TV box combines conventional television with on-demand and catch-up services from Sky and other third parties. It includes a PVR set top box, a multiroom set top box, a dedicated broadband-connected hub, and applications for mobile and desktop devices.
