The animal update for Build an Island is definitely something that many have been looking forward to, and it introduces tons of new content. From drivable rafts, new resources, to new animals that you can keep on your island. Since the game doesn't tell you everything, we will show you how to get pets in Build an Island so that you can start earning more rewards.
How to Unlock Pets
You can unlock pets by building the farm area beside the merchant near your spawn. To build it, you need 100 wood and 5 planks. As soon as you make this area, you'll get a Starter Egg from which you can get either a Dachshund, a Cat, or a Chicken.
This will also allow you to harvest wheat that you can use to expand. Once you expand to the north, you'll unlock the Barn. Here, you can place your animals and feed them hay bales. Doing so will earn you gold. Depending on the animal, you get a different amount of gold when they eat the hay bales. Every animal also has various rarities like Normal, Gold, and Rainbow.
How to Get Eggs
As soon as you expand to the left of the barn, you'll unlock the Starter and Exotic Eggs. The Starter Eggs can be purchased by spending 500 gold. However, you need to spend Robux to get Exotic Eggs. If you keep expanding this area, you'll unlock different types of eggs like the Farm Egg and Elite Egg. Every type of egg gives you a different animal.
Once you unlock the egg, you can see the percentage chance you have to get each type of animal. Keep in mind that you need to keep your animals in barns, so make sure that you expand the area. There are multiple barns spread across, and each of them holds up to 5 animals.
The more animals you have in the barns, the more hay they will eat. You should get a crafting worker to automatically make hay bales. A single hay bale requires 4 wheat.
All Animals in Build an Island
There are 15 animals added in this new update, and all of them offer different amounts of gold when they eat the hay bales. To get them, you have to purchase different eggs. However, getting some of the rare animals like the cow, eagle, panda, and peacock will require you to buy multiple eggs, as they have a lower chance of hatching.
