Gentian is one of those resources in Enshrouded that’s just tough to find. It appears in the Albaneve Summits but often only in small amounts, so knowing multiple locations where it spawns will greatly benefit you while you’re trying to raise your Flame Altar to level seven.
This yellow-flowered plant grows all over the Albaneve Summits, including in the southernmost areas of the region, so you won’t have to travel far after you’ve unlocked the biome’s Ancient Spire. And that’s a good thing, considering you need 40 of these bad boys to reach Flame Altar level seven.

Gentian locations in Enshrouded
As mentioned previously, Gentian can be found all around the Albaneve Summits, but there are a few specific places you'll want to look for it. The first can be found just east of the region's Ancient Spire, as shown on the map below. Head east from the tower, and you'll see a path leading up the mountain. Gentian can be found on the cliffside to the right of the path.
Another location where you can spot Gentian is in the southeastern side of the Albaneve Summits, directly north of the Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire. There's a Small Watchtower point-of-interest overlooking the Shrouded area between the two biomes, and Gentian can be found along the road spanning east to west just north of the tower. Unfortunately, this area doesn't have the herb in abundance like the path east of the Albaneve Summits Ancient Spire, but you can find three or four Gentian plants here.
I also found Gentian to the west of Balefire Garrison "Rimerock," though not in bulk. The most I found in this area was closer to the Flame Shrine located to the southeast of the garrison.
Gentian recipes
Outside of raising your Flame Altar’s level, Gentian can be used in a variety of different crafting recipes. Since Gentian is an herb, most of these recipes will be made through the Farmer or the Alchemist.

How to grow Gentian in Enshrouded
Perhaps the most surefire way of getting more Gentian in Enshrouded is by growing it yourself. Like with other resources—such as Rice or Coffee beans, both of which can be found in the new Veilwater Basin region—Gentian can be so tough to find that it's worth using a few to produce seedlings, then planting them to yield even more of the herb. One Gentian plant makes five Gentian Seedlings if you combine it with water and Fertilised Farm Soil. One seedling will grow into one Gentian, so it's more efficient to grow your own instead of foraging for it in the wild.
To grow Gentian, you need to place a seedling in some sort of dry dirt. It grows faster in Fertilised Farm Soul, Springlands Dirt, and Flower Soil, but slower in other types of soil, like Fertile Veilwater Basin Dirt, Nomad Highlands Dirt, and Revelwood Dirt, so choose your soil carefully. Unlike banana trees, Gentian can only be harvested once, so you'll need to turn whatever you harvest back into more seedlings to keep your supply afloat.
