There’s a new expansion pack in town, Simmers, and that means new quests to complete. One of the big mysteries of Gibbi Point is The Sims 4's newest NPC, the Peculiar Plumbird. There are three different quests tied to this feathery NPC, one of which is Local Legends.
In Adventure Awaits, we meet Pruella Preener, a.k.a. the Peculiar Plumbird. She's a strange, colorful bird with an air of mystery surrounding her and her species: Where are the rest of the Plumbirds? Why did they slowly disappear over the years? Local Legends seeks to answer some of these questions, though you'll have to travel around Gibbi Point to do so.

How to start Local Legends quest
There’s two ways to start Local Legends: either by clicking on the Peculiar Plumbird nest in Crystal Valley, or by interacting with the story map in the plaza of Jellyfish Junction. The plaza can be found to the left of the Revive and Thrive Retreat.

Pruella Preener and her nest can be found in the Crystal Valley neighborhood of the Gibbi Point map. To find her, travel to the Fearful Fish Lounge or the Crystal Cottage lot and head north. Look around in the wooded area, and you should find a nest, as well as our colorful avian friend.
Interacting with either the Story Map or the Plumbird Nest will give you the option to "Dig your talons into Peculiar Plumbird lore," which will open the quest menu and allow you to select up to two of three Plumbird-related quests, with Local Legends being one of them. I recommend starting the Tangible Traces quest as well, since the two have a lot of overlap in their quest requirements, and you can hit two birds with one stone—no pun intended.
All quest requirements to complete Local Legends in The Sims 4: Adventure Awaits
When you start the quest, you'll be tasked with the following requirements:
- Search for and investigate Plumbird evidence in Jellyfish Junction
- Ask two Gibbi Point locals about Unusual Bird
- Discuss Plumbird Evidence with one Gibbi Point local
- Touch the Glowworm near the Electric Lagoon
The first two requirements will automatically appear in your quest log, and as you complete one, a new one will take its place.
Finding Plumbird Evidence in Jellyfish Junction
The first Plumbird fossil can be found on the path to the lighthouse in Jellyfish Junction. It’ll appear as a flat rock on the ground and can be easy to miss, so refer to the image below to get a better idea of what to look for. If you still can't find it, interacting with the Jellyfish Junction Town Model in the plaza will automatically refocus the camera to show the Plumbird fossil's exact location.

Talking to Gibbi Point locals
Once you’ve unearthed the archeological evidence of the Plumbird, it’s on to the next phase of the quest. Oh, what’s that? You thought we were done? Guess again, my friend. Luckily, this stage isn’t too difficult; all it requires is chatting up the locals.
- Ask Gibbi Point locals about Unusual Bird (0/2)
- Discuss Plumbird Evidence with Gibbi Point locals (0/1)

Both of these tasks are relatively easy, though it may take you a bit to find someone who classifies as a Gibbi Point local. Not every NPC who jogs through Jellyfish Junction or the Wanderwood Wilds will be a resident of Gibbi Point. Instead, you’ll need to find new characters who live in this world and chat with them before you see the dialogue options for the above tasks.
There are a few locals the game will suggest you find: Raheel the Adventurer, Nigel the Camp Director, or Toshie the Storyteller, but I found those weren’t the only NPCs who count as Gibbi Point locals. I visited Plumbird Park and found Laxmi Kunal, the Butterfly Conservationist, who counts as a local. She also gives you the Raise a Butterfly quest, so be sure to pick that up if you haven’t already. I spoke to Laxmi twice instead of finding a second local and was able to complete the quest that way.
Touch the Glowworm near the Electric Lagoon

After you’ve discussed the evidence and rumors surrounding the Plumbirds, it’s time to touch some worms. Does that make sense? No, nothing in The Sims 4 makes sense, but that’s why we’re all here, isn’t it?
The Electric Lagoon, though it’s not a named spot on the map, can be found in the Crystal Valley neighborhood. To reach it, wait until night and travel once more to the Fearful Fish Lounge. Zoom out and look for a small alcove of water tucked into a body of rocks, as shown in the image above. You should see glowing blue orbs appear in the foliage just at the water’s edge. Click on this and you’ll see a prompt to “touch the glowworm”—but you'll only be able to do so at night. Touching these wormies will light up the lagoon in a beautiful display.

Once you've lit up the lagoon, the quest will end and you'll be awarded with some Simoleons. Now it's time to take on the other quests in Gibbi Point, like Feeding Frenzy, to complete your investigation of the mysterious Plumbird.
