How to complete the Altitude Tactics event in Black Ops 7

The Altitude Tactics is a new event in Black Ops 7, and instead of challenges, it’s an XP-based progression event tied to Season 2 Reloaded in BO7 and Warzone.

There are seven rewards to earn from the event, where the Voyak KT-3 Assault Rifle is the Mastery unlock. Since XP is the talking point here, every kill, objective, and streak is crucial for progress. You can gain XP in any of the four core modes – Multiplayer, Endgame or Co-Op, Zombies, and Warzone, including Black Ops Royale.

Having that said, here’s a complete breakdown of the fastest ways to finish the Altitude Tactics event in Warzone and Black Ops 7 Season 2 Reloaded.

Each XP threshold unlocks one reward, in order:

  • Gliders emblem
  • Pinpoint calling card
  • Stay Safe weapon charm
  • Pinnacle reticle
  • Wind Resistance emote
  • Rainfall universal animated weapon camo
  • Voyak KT-3 assault rifle (Mastery Reward)

The event is not leaderboard-based, which means you need to complete the required total of 250,000 Player XP threshold, and the rewards are yours.

How the XP track actually works

The event works like a standard mid-season XP bar with six milestones before the weapon unlock. You progress by Match XP, which is earned from kills, assists, damage, and survivals, then Objective XP, which includes captures, plants, defends, contracts, etc.

There’s also Bonus XP, which includes scorestreak usage, medals, mission completions, match bonuses, and any active Double XP tokens.

Best modes to finish Altitude Tactics event fast

Multiplayer for fastest, consistent XP

If you enjoy 6v6, Multiplayer is the most reliable mode for fastest progression. Play objective modes like Hardpoint, Domination, and Control, as these modes spike your XP through captures and defenses on top of kills.

Queue small-map or high-action playlists when available to maximize engagements per minute. Use weapons you are still leveling and chase their camo and attachment challenges to stack extra XP per match.

Equip scorestreaks such as UAV and Counter-UAV for constant team-wide value. Pair them with field upgrades and operators that accelerate streak gain (for example, perks or gear that boost score and field upgrade recharge).

Zombies for low-stress and high-volume XP

If you prefer PvE, Zombies may be the easiest way to clear the entire track in just a handful of long runs.
Stick to team play, prefer four-stacks. clear rounds faster, and generate far more kills per minute. Focus on pushing rounds efficiently instead of hoarding points; faster cycling means more total kills (and XP) in a session.

Zombies is especially forgiving if you want to grind while learning new weapons for camos or attachments at the same time.

Warzone and Black Ops Royale

Altitude Tactics also progresses when you play Warzone, including the new Black Ops Royale mode.
Avoid dying early as XP rewards survival time, contracts, and late-game placements.

Chain Contracts like Recon, Scavenger, or Bounty to multiply XP throughout the match and coordinate with your squad all the time.

Endgame or Co-Op

Endgame missions and other co-op content also count toward Altitude Tactics. Prioritize missions with steady enemy density and clear objectives.

Try to avoid slow, stealth-heavy operations if your only goal is XP, as those tend to have lower kill counts.
No matter which mode you prefer, use Double XP tokens whenever you can, especially during longer sessions, as these items apply directly to event progress.

Stack weapon leveling and camo challenges while you grind to squeeze more XP out of each game. Stay in active lobbies instead of backing out frequently – match bonuses, streaks of games played, and quick requeues all add up.

If you can reliably play several hours across the event window while following these basics, you will usually finish Altitude Tactics well before the end date.

The Voyak KT-3 full-auto assault rifle at the end of the track has core traits, such as high damage and excellent handling for its class, a slower fire rate with moderate-to-high recoil, and rewarding controlled bursts at mid-range. It’s also got fast reload speed, making it one of the quickest-cycling ARs in the game and a strong meta contender in the right hands.
