'How?' Rival fans left baffled by absence of Spurs star from PFA award shortlist

The six-man shortlist for the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year was announced on Saturday and fans were left surprised by the absence of one Tottenham Hotspur man.

While the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea all saw players nominated, Spurs were overlooked - and the fact that Son Heung-Min was overlooked left many fans on social media scratching their heads.

It was not just Tottenham fans that were baffled though, as a number of supporters from rival clubs also raised their eyebrows at the omission - with a number suggesting he would have been a better choice than City's Bernardo Silva or Chelsea's Eden Hazard.

The six-man shortlist is dominated by Liverpool and Manchester City players, with Reds' duo Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane among those nominated, along with City trio Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero and Bernardo Silva, and Chelsea's Eden Hazard.
