Thousands of people use public transport every day but have you ever wondered how much the people operating the vehicles actually make?
Public transport operators in Dublin are hiring across a range of roles, and the salaries aren't too shabby either.
So if you are in the market for a new job, you may be in luck as a variety of personnel are wanted, from customer service, becoming a driver or joining a security team, there's a job available to suit everyone.

Here are three vacancies currently available at Dublin Bus, Irish Rail and Luas.
Luas security officer
Transdev is hiring full-time Luas security officers and is offering €16.87 per hour.
Applicants must have a valid PSA licence. The role is full-time, with 40 hours spread over four working days per week.
Some of the responsibilities of the job include:
- Providing security for Luas customers, staff and assets – proactively deterring criminal activity and tackling anti-social behaviour, including vandalism and fare evasion.
- Conducting Luas ticket inspections.
- Undertaking crowd control duties at public events or during times of disruption.

Dublin Bus driver
Dublin Bus is hiring full-time bus drivers.
They are offering pay of €632.05 per week (4-day week inclusive of shift and Sunday premium), increasing to €859.62 (5-day week inclusive of shift and Sunday premium).
Initial training and mentoring for the role is provided as well as ongoing training and development.

Irish Rail onboard customer service officer
Irish Rail has launched a recruitment campaign for Onboard Customer Services Officers.
There are vacancies in Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Mallow, Sligo, Tralee, Westport and Waterford, and you can select your preferred location on the application form.
The salary scale starts from €31K per annum and eventually reaches a maximum of €41K per annum after ten years.
Successful applicants will "provide face to face customer service excellence" on Irish Rail trains as well as "providing an Onboard channel for ticket purchase and first-class sales/upgrades".
