So you're a few hours into Hollow Knight: Silksong, you vaguely remember it saying "Act 1" a little while ago, and you're wondering when—or if—you might ever see another chapter marker?
Well then, yes, we're here to explain just how many Acts there are in Silksong, and (without spoilers) roughly explain what they entail. Still, there will be some light spoilers like place names, so don't read on if you want to avoid any spoilers on the matter.
At the time of writing, there are two Acts in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Act 1 entails Hornet exploring the area of Pharloom, while Act 2 follows Hornet exploring the Citadel of Song. Currently, it does not seem like there is an Act 3. However, this could be reserved for post-game content or for DLC.
Act 1 seems to consist mostly of the underground areas from the beginning of the game, such as Bone Bottom, The Marrow, Deep Docks, and Far Fields. It's unclear exactly what occurs towards the end of Act 2, but we're sure Hornet will be tackling some very dangerous foes along the way.
