'How is this possible?' - Arsenal fans frustrated after Ruben Dias and Aaron Ramsdale decisions

Arsenal have seen their fine run of form come to a close after a forgettable week, which has left supporters questioning Premier League officials.

The Gunners lost 2-1 to Wolves in midweek, in a match where David Luiz and Bernd Leno were both sent off, before Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

Luiz's red card against Wolves raised eyebrows, with minimal contact on Willian Jose, but former referee Peter Walton said it was because he didn't make a genuine attempt for the ball.

Fast forward to Sunday and Manchester City defender Ruben Dias conceded a penalty for a foul on Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, making no clear attempt for the ball but only receiving a yellow card.

Aston Villa 1-0 Arsenal: Full Mikel Arteta press conference

That frustrated Arsenal fans, who made their feelings known, and their anger was increased in the day's late kick-off.

Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale conceded a clear penalty on Chelsea's Timo Werner, wiping out the striker and denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity.

Again though, no red card was issued and, bizarrely, the goalkeeper did not even receive a caution - leaving fans scratching their heads once again.

That has provided fresh ammunition to Arsenal fans in their war against Premier League officials, with the belief that they are treated unfairly.

While the age-old saying is that these decisions will even themselves out over the duration of a season, it certainly hasn't felt like that for Arsenal fans.

Dismissals are certainly an issue for Mikel Arteta's side, having seen eight since he took charge - double the highest amount from any other side.
