How good Harry Wilson will become for Liverpool according to Football Manager

Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson has had a terrific campaign on loan at Championship side Derby County this season.

The Welsh forward has scored 18 goals in all competitions for the Rams this season, including 16 in the league, as he played a key role in their run to the Championship playoff final.

Unfortunately for the youngster, the Rams would lose out on promotion, as they lost to Aston Villa in the playoff final on Monday.

The 22-year-old clearly has a lot of talent, but Reds manager Jurgen Klopp will have to make a decision on him this summer.

He can either have him has a backup option for the first team squad, send him on another loan spell or perhaps try and cash in.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have nailed down their starting places and the squad already contains the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri, Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster as back up options, so it's hard to see if he would fit in, unless room was made for him.

The question is, how much potential has Wilson got?

We used the Football Manager 2019 database to find out.

Current Ability: 134 /200

Potential Ability: 152 /200

Positions: CM/LM/RM/AML/AMR/AMC/ST

Best attributes (out of 20): Free Kicks (16), dribbling (15), technique (15), acceleration (15), composure (15)

According to Football Manager 2019, Wilson already has all the key attributes you need to be a dangerous inside forward, with strong technical skill, physical speed and mental attributes.

His finishing (14), composure (14) and decision (12) attributes make him a good finisher in front of goal, with his long shots (14) and free kicks (16) making him a threat from range too.

He's also strong at passing (14), vision (14), crossing (14), first touch (14) and corners (14) too.

With his attributes as they are currently, he could be a dangerous option for Liverpool next season when coming off the bench and is potentially more of a goal threat than Xherdan Shaqiri.

He's been given a current ability rating of 134 out of 200 on the game, which puts him at the same level as Ajax duo David Neres (134) and Lasse Schone (133).

His potential ability rating of 152 means that he can become significantly better than he is now, but according to the game, he will not reach the heights of Mohamed Salah (180) or Sadio Mane (172).

However, as these ratings would have been last updated back in January, you can expect these to be updated in the next installment of the game, such has been his performances for Derby this season.

According to Football Manager, Wilson could become a useful option for Klopp next season if he decides to keep him around, or a Premier League loan move might be best, in order to get more game time.

But, after a terrific season in the Championship, it may be best to cash in now, if the offer is right this summer.

Over to you Jurgen....
