How Arsenal could line up at Fulham on opening day after dream transfer window

Arsenal are in line for a big summer - and their side could look very different on the opening day of the Premier League season.

Mikel Arteta’s side will head to newly promoted Fulham in their first game of the campaign on September 12.

They are already in line to hand William Saliba his long-awaited debut after signing for the club last summer whilst experienced attacker Willian has put pen to paper.

And after securing Europa League football in their final game of the season by winning the FA Cup, Gunners fans have high hopes that at least two more big names could follow to cap off a dream transfer window.

Arsenal are still eyeing a move for Thomas Partey, the Atletico Madrid midfielder long considered a top target.

They are expected to have to pay his £45million release clause to acquire his signature but will hope of landing Partey one way or another before they head to Craven Cottage.

Arsenal also want to make a move for loanee Dani Ceballos permanent, meaning Partey could slot in alongside the Spaniard and Granit Xhaka to add a new dimension to a midfield three.

The Gunners are also believed to be leading the race to land Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Telegraph claimed this week that they have agreed a five-year deal with the young Brazilian defender after agreeing a £22.6million fee.

Napoli have also had a bid accepted whilst Manchester United have made late contact and the defender is considering his options.

But Arteta will hope he can line-up at the heart of a new-look defence on the opening day.

Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is now expected to commit his future to the club with a new contract, whilst Alexandre Lacazette has been linked with a departure to Juventus but remains an Arsenal player for the time being.

The return of Bernd Leno after his injury after lockdown proved not as bad as first feared means he is also set to be a welcome return on the opening day of the new campaign.

Arsenal possible line-up vs Fulham: Leno, Bellerin, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney, Xhaka, Partey, Ceballos, Willian, Lacazette, Aubameyang.
