Ant McPartlin has credited his romance with his former PA Anne-Marie Corbett with 'saving' him following his stint in rehab.
The Saturday Night Takeaway presenter, 44, knew his girlfriend for years before they got together following his split from Lisa Armstrong.
Ant and Lisa officially divorced in January this year, with Ant agreeing to hand over half of his estimated £61million fortune to his ex-wife as well as signing over their £6million home in Chiswick, west London.
Anne-Marie, 44, had split from her husband Scott in September 2017 and they continue to co-parent their two daughters.
Ant told The Sun : "She was single, I was single. We weren’t even looking for anybody else.
"We were going through turmoil. It was the last thing on either of our minds to get into a relationship. But there we were and we were like: 'This felt so good, why deny it?’'"
After he left rehab in 2018 it was Anne-Marie's idea for them to get away so Ant could focus on his recovery.
He had previously said she was his "rock" throughout his battle with addiction.
Ant said: "I did nothing. I barely watched the World Cup. I worked on myself and got well. For the 16 years I've spent my birthday in Australia so I thought I’d spend it with Anne-Marie. It was gorgeous."
Anne-Marie has supported his career, travelling to Australia for I'm A Celebrity! last November and across the UK for Britain's Got Talent auditions.
Last summer they moved into their £6million dream home in London together along with Anne-Marie's two daughters and their new Maltipoo puppies Milo and Bumble.
Ant said: "Anne-Marie is the fundamental reason for the great change in my life.
"She's been my rock. She's a beautiful soul. We're very happy. I'm in the best place I've been in my life, to be honest with you."
When Stylist magazine asked what his "greatest love" is he told them: "My family, my partner, her girls, our dogs… and Newcastle United."
