The Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen have booby-trapped United Nations food warehouses in the coastal province of Hodeidah, charged the legitimate government on Sunday.
Minister of Local Administration and head of the higher relief committee Abdulraqib Fatah said that the militias planted mines and explosives at the warehouses, deeming their move an unprecedented crime.
He urged the UN and humanitarian agencies to condemn the criminal act that aims to deprive the Yemeni people of relief aid.
He demanded that they take firm measures to stop all terrorist acts committed by the Houthis in Hodeidah and other areas under their control, reported the Saba news agency.
He deemed as unacceptable the international community’s silence over the Houthi crimes, stressing the need for immediate UN and international action to halt the militias’ rights violations in Yemen.
