Houssem Aouar Arsenal transfer boost as Lyon star says 'yes' to cash package

Houssem Aouar has agreed personal terms on a move to Arsenal, according to a French report.

The 22-year-old impressed for Rudi Garcia's side last season as they reached the Champions League semi-final, and is being followed by some of Europe's biggest clubs.

The Gunners appear to be the most keen to get a deal over the line, and Telefoot reports that personal terms have been agreed in principle for a move.

While Aouar would prefer a move to Barcelona or Juventus, there has so far been no official offer from either club.

Both are looking to sell before they can buy, as the coronavirus shutdown and high wage bills cause a financial squeeze.

The outlet reports that further talks with be held with Lyon in the coming days, though president Jean-Michel Aulas is sure to play hardball.

It's reported that the first official offer was made on Thursday, though it's not known what the financial package proposed was.

On Friday coach Garcia lamented the speculation surrounding his side, stating that he just wants the transfer window to close.

He said: "Roll on the evening of October 5! There is nothing certain so far.

"As long as you wear the OL jersey, you have to give the best of yourself.

"There are no particular issues, we need to stay focused and think about Lorient.

"The real season will start after the transfer window."
