House of the Dragon season 3 has come to a fiery end. The penultimate season of the Fire and Blood adaptation saw some seismic changes in the Targaryen civil war between Team Black and Team Green, with major deaths, shifting allegiances, and unexpected falls from grace.

Since the first season, House of the Dragon has had fluctuating episode counts, with season one clocking in at 10 episodes, and season 2 containing just 8 episodes, after being cut short at the 2023 writers' strike. House of the Dragon season 3 wasn't strike-affected, but there aren't as many episodes as you might be expecting.

The first episode of House of the Dragon season 3 aired on June 21 in the US, and on June 22 in the UK. New episodes dropped weekly until the season 3 finale on August 9 in the US and August 10 in the UK.

In the UK, you have a couple of choices. The (relatively) newly launched HBO Max is available for all your House of the Dragon needs, but there's always good ol' faithful NOW TV, so two streaming options.

House of the Dragon season 3, much like the second season, consists of eight episodes. It appears we won't be going back to the tried-and-tested Westeros tradition of 10 episodes anytime soon.

Despite the behind-the-scenes issues affecting the show (including a falling out of sorts between showrunner Ryan Condal and author George R.R. Martin), HBO has renewed House of the Dragon for a fourth season. So, no, House of the Dragon season 3 is not the final season.
